RAISE - National Skills Strategy Consultation

Consultation - National Skills StrategySkills-Third Sector have published a consultation on a 'Framework for a Voluntary Sector National Skills Strategy 2011-2014'. The development of Big Society will bring further demands on the voluntary and community sector (VCS); the continued success of voluntary and community organisations (VCOs) depends on having the right skills to deliver this ambitious strategy. The proposed National Skills Strategy needs to take into account the specific skills needed for increased provision by the VCS and the implications of budget cuts in achieving this. Skills-Third Sector will use the information gathered in their consultation to shape their future plans for supporting skills development and to feedback to Government and other core stakeholders on a skills strategy for the sector. RAISE will be submitting a response to this consultation in order to reflect the vision of a skills strategy by VCOs in the South East. In order to influence this document we need your views on Skills-Third Sector's vision, the proposal of collaborative working, the 4 priority areas identified in the consultation document and the proposed process of feeding back to stakeholders.
